Kids Learn CPR at SeaWorld San Diego

SeaWorld and San Diego Project Heart Beat teamed up last week to teach youth (ages 8-13) to perform CPR and save lives.  The event took place inside SeaWorld San Diego’s Shamu Stadium along with the help of San Diego Fire Station 20.

Fifty kids and their families attended the free event where they were taught how to perform CPR and how to use automated external defibrillator(AED).  Each child took home a CPR anytime kit with a video so they can continue to practice.

When the CPR training concluded the kids got an up-close look at Shamu and got to spend the day at the park.  They also met members of SeaWorld’s Animal Ambassador Team including a penguin, bearded dragon, legless lizard and some llamas.

SeaWorld has 20 AEDs inside the park, and there have been 89 lives saved in San Diego county because of AEDs.  Please take a moment to find the a CPR training class near you.  You never know when you might be in a position to help save someone’s life.  Here is a little video from the event...
